Going down the 1x10 route

After converting my own 2 Giant Anthems to 1x10 gearing I felt I’d learned from my mistakes and was confident enough to do first of all, Barrie’s old Giant Trance.

And then Clive’s Fuji, the result of which will be known tomorrow when we hit Glentress.....fingers crossed!

Dougie signs up for the Strathpuffer 24 hour race in January 2019

Dougie was out with me today in sweltering (for Scotland) heat, it’s going to be a whole lot different in January in the far north of Scotland!

,

The horses did their best to give encouragement!

The Pentlands midweek, about as far removed from mid winter as possible

And finally, Rebus enjoying a paddle in the River Tweed, only a paddle mind you, he’s not brave enough to try anything more daring!

Dougie told me through the week that he was considering entering the Strathpuffer 24 hour race solo category and true to his word he sent text later that night to confirm, in a moment of maybe misplaced loyalty I’ve offered to be his pit crew, the training for the rider and the backroom staff starts now!

Riding the bike, walking the dog or watching the World Cup?

Biking through the day just now means staying in the shade as much as possible!

Who could say no to walking this little chap who’s presently on holiday with us as his owner, Barrie, seeks warmer weather in Crete, he’d have got it as warm staying at home!

And then there’s the World Cup, on nearly every day and almost hypnotic in its attraction of willing the underdogs on against the favourites, heaven help some of the footballers if they went over the bars, the fuss and writhing about they do if someone so much as looks at them the wrong way!
