Everybody should have a favourite something, mine is a wee bridge!

Here's my favourite bridge, its along the River Esk near Penicuik and I've admired it for years, every time I pass it I wonder where it led to and pictured horse drawn carts crossing it..... ah well that's my fantasy, whats yours?

Ebike is back after service and it’s going beautifully!

Just a short test ride today to check the bike out and its GOOD! After riding the non ebike it seemed to weigh a ton but hopefully that should soon go un-noticed after a few rides!
Cant wait to get up them hills again heres hoping the weather stays warm and dry!

Absolutely nothing to do with mountain biking!

Visited Anstruther in the East Neuk of Fife and went to sample a fish supper at the famous "best in Scotland chip shop" and who should be there as well for a fish supper? Only Prince William and his wife Kate!

This must be the coldest May I’ve ever biked in…..and that’s going back a good few years!

Clive very kindly accompianed me on his non ebike as my ebike is still under repair and we avoided the hardest climbs today. The rain held off for so long but it was obvious it wouldn't be long in coming on, in fact the temperature fell to 3.8C at one point! The next few days dont look like improving much either!
Probably the highlight of the ride was seeing the two swans and their six cygnets at the local pond, how many will survive the summer is anyones guesss.
ooo We made it to the bridge and decided in the conditions today that was far enough and decide to cut our losses and head back home...there's always another day, hopefully a warmer one!

Some photos from last week

Bluebell Wood, looking good!!
Peace and calm in a troubled world! ..
Still got to prepare to be rained on even though its the middle of May

The ebike will be back starting next week (thank goodness for that!)

Phoned today to inquire whenI could expect Ernie the ebike back with a new motor and was assured if the mechanic worked weekends it would have been ready tomorrow but as he doesnt it'll be Monday or Tuesday when I can pick it up, I can't say I blame him for wanting to play on his own bike over the weekend!
Did the Pentlands winter loop on the Giant Anthem yesterday and found it tough going, the years are catch up on me but in my defence a fair bit of the track is soft just now with all the recent rain and it was heavy going at times..... the main thing was I managed it!

One week to go till the ebike's back in action........?

A weird week weather wise with snow and hail at the start of the week and only a slight improvement towards the end, surely it'll start to get a bit warmer now we're moving into mid May!
Riding through the Bush Estate on one of the slightly better days this week
Some of the graffiti on the walls of one of the bridges that go under the Edinburgh bypass' they change regularly but no-one ever seems to see the artist or is it artists? Whoever it is they're very talanted!
Finally this week an attempt to appear confident that the ebike will be back next week so I can join Barrie and Clive on an ebike extravaganza again!

Hoping to have ebike back by mid May....unil then it's the old Giant Anthem and muscle power

The grass always needs cut even though it seems to be slow to grow this year, probably affected by the late frosts
Out with Clive last night who came on his old Kona non ebike to keep me company on the little local loop I've be doing lately
Also been out with Kathy a couple of times who's always good company to bike with
And just to remind myself its not been hellish weather every day, two weeks ago we did a trip to Mussleburgh and it was like a summers day, I ended up with my scalp burnt and peeling but it was worth it to watch two couples put on a pretty professional display of beach volleyball!
