Much better ebike “clean and jerk”

Hows that for style and elegance, well maybe not elegance! But at least both arms are reasonably straight!
A cow I passed up in the Pentland Hills reminded me of the old proverb(?) that the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence!

Lifting an ebike over a fence should be an Olympic event!

I've probably lost point on style with this effort tonight!
The sheep grazing nearby weren't at all impressed with my lift!
Some mud and puddles back again after this mornings rain, fingers crossed it'll stay dry

Going to miss this sunny dry weather when it’s gone!

Barrie photographed doing our favourite jump on the descent from the top of Black Hill
The track along the side of Black Hill, so different from the wet, muddy slog in the winter!
Relaxing in the sun after returning home from the mountain biking!

It’s become almost too hot to bike in the hills through the day!

Its always a relief biking through water in extreme heat(for Scotland) I hate to think how we'd cope in warmer climates!
It's b ee n back to dog walking this week as we look after our sons dog taking care not to expose him to too much heat!

Why do we collapse when it warms up suddenly in Scotland?

Its always the same, we've been pottering along in our usual non exciting temperatures when suddenly we're hit by highish temperatures than we normally get and half of us are struck down with heatstrokee.....at least I am!
Anyway the views are tremendous even if it takes a day or two to recover!
Lots of warm memories to keep, they dont happen that often in Scotland!

Now to try and order a new derailleur in these COVID-19 times!

Only went and got heather tangled round the rear derailleur resulting in it and the hanger both needing replaced which appears to be more dificult due to restrictions with COVID19 Anyway orders have been placed and fingers are crossed!
Before the breakdown Barrie and myself had made it to the top of Castlelaw
The start of the fial climb up Castlelaw

A wee short post to show how wet it’s become….

Only half a mile into the ride and it was puddles and mud and this was the theme for the ride last night
A dryer section but becoming overgrown with nettles and thorns!

Got out before the rain and thundershowers that were forecast

In fact it was well nigh perfect conditions when I started out just after 7.30am
Met a hill walker at the top of Harbour Hill and we chatted for a few minutes, more or less comparing notes!
A reminder to all dog walkers to take care in the hills especially just now with so many young lambs running around!

Up “Run Sheepie Run” instead of down it for a change!

Couldn't have picked a better night for it, apart from the midges!
Barrie kicks up some dust
One of the small bridges going down "Phantoms Cleugh" which is really dry at the moment
