Waiting on a new gear shifter…….
The gear shifter to the 11 speed gears failed dramatically on Saturday morning just as I set off with Baz for a Pentlands ride. It had performed perfectly the night before when I was out solo. A new one was ordered from CRC with extra money for next day delivery....which didnt happen! An irate email on Sunday demanded to know why it was not deliverd and I was promised my next day delivery surcharge returned, its now Tuesday and I'm still waiting but I think the delay now is due to a bank holiday on Monday in England, does nobody down south realise how important my mountain bike is to me!!!
The culprit awaiting change.....

Fun on the bikes with relatives from Wales!
Grandfather, son and grandson posing for the camera on a trip up the Pentland Hills, only one ebike between us so it had to be shared but Dave and Duncan were very impressed with its climbing abilities!
Dave and Duncan cool off in the water crossing on a warm day in Scotland (for a change!)

A good weekends riding in the Pentland Hills!
Saturday with Barrie and Clive, close on 30 miles and over 3500 feet of climbing in a chilly blustery wind that made mountain biking interesting!
This photo taken at the top of the Kirk Road where Clive was lying in wait to video us in anticipation of an off! No such luck for him however as both Barrie and I made it successfully!
Out with Kathy on Sunday morning for another 23 miles, what a woman! She tackles everything that she finds in her path!

The heather’s started to bloom….
All we need now is the sun to shine on the"blooming" heather for a spectacular display!
The rain threatened but never arrived, thats what happens when you dress prepared for it!
Always worth the effort for the views alone

Somehow I missed all the rain!
This is the result of heavy overnight rain which had dried up by the time I was out and about!
Somebodys made a ramp over the fallen tree, it,ll save me catching my e-motor on it if nothing else!
Early on this week and things were a bit drier, heres hoping it improves in the next few days.

It was dry and sunny but none too warm up in the Pentlands
Clive made sure as did I who was close behind that we didn't come off in the water crossing!
It may have been a bank holiday for humans but none of these apply to the sheep!
A good couple of hours biking this afternoon with Clive but somehow or other we seemed to be pedaling into a constant headwind! After a bit of faffing around at the start we managed to get Clives back brakes working ok, you dont want to hit the Pentlands with dodgy brakes!
