Wearing long weatherproof trousers again!
Not very flattering....but the views good!
The start of the segment called Run Sheepie Run, always a challenge going up the way!
Coming down The Goat Track and the view is terrific!

Is the weather going downhill after today?
No its not my house!
This bit is trickier than it looks!
And this section is even more tricky if you arent careful!
These guys were taking advantage of th good weather today with a spot of canoeing on the reservoir

It’s so annoying when the Garmin switches off after a bump!
The bike was balanced against a post to take a photo of me when a strong gust of wind blew it over in the process switching off the Garmin, it would be roughly 3 miles till I noticed and switched it back on again!
The offending photo!
A view up the Goat Track which I biked up today, the first time for ages

The day we met the police way up in the Pentland Hills!
Turned out it was an instructer and pupil out on their quads, the instructor would have chatted for hours, the pupil looked as if she was becoming bored!
Luckily it wasn't a chilly wind that was blowing today!

Me on my ebike, Dougie on his acoustic hard tail!
Dougie doesn't hang about even though he's providing all the power for his bike and I was glad of the little power pack fitted to my bike!
I was able to get ahead to photograph him doing the river crossing however!
A great forenoons bike ride and I've done slower speed loops with only ebikes present!

Nothing like a banana for energy!
When you're needing energy nothing beats a banana!
We've reached the top of Black Hill, at last its mostly downhill on the way home!
You've gotta be careful on these narrow tracks that have a steep drop to the side
We always try to show a bit of courtesy to horse riders and dog walkers!

Trying Clive’s road bike as cross bike
Strugled a bit on the climb compared tp the ebike but the light weight compensated a bit!
The lack of weight was most evident when lifting over a gate or fence!
Clive managed to ride his "cross" bike right down the shelter belt, I was suitably impressed by his effort as he made it through the gate at the bottom!

Out with Clive on his old Kona non ebike
This made for an interesting bike ride with Clive having to noticably put much more effort in on the climbs.
I dont think Clive will be giving up the ebike once its repaired, he appreciates the ease that climbs can be tackled with the flick of a switch (as I do as well!)

Sunshine and dust….just not like Scotland at all today!
Passing another biker going the opposite way from Baz and I
Starting up the steep narrow track up the west end of Black Hill
Following Baz along the rough track on the north side of Black Hill
We passed quite a few girls out on horses today, a perfect day for horse riding and mountain biking!

A new gear shifter fitted and successfully tested
The new gear shifter eventually arrived and was fitted in no more than 15 minutes. After teatime I rod e the bike the usual tracks up to the Howe in the Pentland Hills changing gear much more than is normal and everything worked perfectly.....one of my more successful repairs!
