A bike ride up to The Howe and back down again in sultry heat

Barrie, Clive and myself did a pretty straight forward bike ride this morning up to The Howe and back down again, too warm for anything to adventurous today!

Back out on the ebike up in the Pentland Hills again today!

Out with Clive on a morning of perfect mtb weather up in the Pentland Hills for a nice easy short bike ride, nothing too hard after being off it for a couple of weeks or so!

A visit with Mrs K to Portobello beach!

A visit in the sun today for a seat in the sun with an ice cream cone and listen to a young man sing along with playing his guitar with the occasional bit of harmonica playing.....and very good he was as well!

And we humans think we have problems with 2 or 3 of a family!

g A walk round Linlithgow Loch with Barrie and Lauren today which turned out to be the warmest day of the year so far, a scorcher for Scotland and perfect for photos with a phone!

A trip to Peebles by bus!

We decided it was such a cracker of a day that a trip to Peebles w as in order and by bbus a s well! I don't know when I was last on a bus and had forgotten just how bumpy, noisy and rattly a double decker bus could be so it was an experience I hadn't had for some years! It was well worth the noise and shoogliness though and one I'm quite likely to repeat again before too long! Here's some photos I took during the visit!

The two Highland Cattle were still as relaxed as ever and refused to come any nearer to me no matter how much I insulted them!

A couple of the tourist attractions in The Royal Mile we saw today

This must be one of the cutest ponies in Britain!

Out walking a couple of days ago and came across this cute pony and its equally cute rider and just had to photograph them and show them on my blog!

Back up in the hills….but bloody cold though no wind!

Back up in the hillsc again today but really feeling the cold even though there was no wind to blow in to my body! The photos show Barrie and Clive exiting the descent we named the "shelterbelt" for fairly obvious reasons! Snow forecast in the next day or two s o we'll just have to wait with fingers crossed!

Walking a lap round Edinburgh Park today

The Edinburgh Tram caught passing through Edinburgh Park on its way to Edinburgh Airport from St Andrews Square in the centre of town!

First time out on the mountain bike for a good few weeks!

Clive phoned today and suggested a short(ish) bike ride up in the Pentlands as I hadnt been out for a good few weeks and boy did I know ! My backside i s going to suffer for a few days but given time it should recover! We managed 14 miles roughly and I felt a bit rough at the finish too!! Onwards and upwards though!

The weather is too good to be true just now!

Just back from a visit into Edinburgh and its more like the end of May than the end of January with the sunshine and blue sky! And last night we had our own Rabbie Burns Supper with haggis, neeps (turnip) and tatties (potatoes)! Heres a photo of the finished article about to be consumed!

A wee walk along Princes Street in Scotlands capital!

My wife and I decide a visit was in order into the heart of Edinburgh today so off it was by car halfway in then the rest of the way by bus, marvelling at the way bus drivers handle their vehicles regardless of the methods employed by car drivers! So safely into the centre of the city and safely out again....photos some other day hopefully!!

A very merry Christmas from me and my family to everyone who looks in! No bike action photos today but viewing at the weather in the USA on the television there won't be much action there either! Hopefully everyone is safe, sound and warm and things brighten up for next year...... we can always hope!
